SZMC faculty grows

RAHIM YAR KHAN, April 4: Sheikh Zayed Medical Collage’s faculty has gained strength with the joining of five senior professors and assistant professors. According to Dr Eice Muhammad, principal of the Sheikh Zayed Medical Collage and Hospital, 10 professors , three associate professors, 16 assistant professors and 36 demonstrators were actively engaged in different departments of the collage.

“The proof of their expertise and hard work is the excellent results of the second year examinations 2005 and the first year supplementary examinations, 2005, with 80 per cent and 90 per cent success rate,” Dr Eice said in a statement on Monday.

Among the recent inductions were Prof Resheed Ahmed Chaudhry (professor of surgery), Prof Zahoor Ahmed (professor of gynae & obs.), Prof Asghar Sultan (professor of bio-chemistry), Dr Nuzhat Rasheed (assistant professor gynae & obs.) and Dr Shumsu Nisa (assistant professor gynae & obs).

He said an associate professor each in neurosurgery, ENT and paeds will join the college in near future.

The college, it may be added, was set up two years ago.
