KARACHI, April 4: Seven ships carrying sugar and general cargo and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Hanjin Busan, Pu He, to unload and load containers and Queen Trader to load ethanol were berthed after the departure of four.

The ships, which departed included H.S. Discoverer, Shalamar, Alitis and Sagamore, while Pu He, Hanjin Busan and Jade Trader are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was slow where a total tonnage fell to 32,824 tons owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage. Export figure fell to 5,401 tons and so did import cargo at 27,423 tons, which also included 5,558 tons of raw sugar.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Amar, with 13,500 tons of sugar, Kora Taraju, Marcala Bria, Hyundai Stride, with containers, Ju Fu Men, with steel, Haje Khereh and Sargodha, with general cargo.
