LAHORE, March 31: FIFA, soccer’s international ruling body, will decide in September on awarding the second Goal Project to Pakistan, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) said on Friday.

PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat said the first Goal Project in Lahore had been completed and federation had shifted its offices from Punjab Stadium.

The official said Sindh, NWFP and Federal governments had been requested to provide a piece of land for the Goal.

“The PFF will build the second Goal Project in the province whose government will give the best piece of land free of cost to the federation,” said Faisal who left for Bangladesh on Friday to attend the opening ceremony of AFC Challenge Cup.

The president said he would request FIFA chief Sepp Blatter to visit Pakistan to inaugurate the Goal Project in Lahore.

Meanwhile, Faisal said Punjab Stadium would be equipped with floodlights by the end of May this year.

“The prime minister and Punjab government have released Rs10 million each for the floodlights. The work will start soon on installation of floodlights,” he said.

The president said he had not received resignation of chief selector Younis Chengazi. Younis had also tendered resignation as chairman of Balochistan Football Association (BFA) about one month ago after a row with another official Agha Liaquat.

The selection committee became ineffective after Pakistan coach Salman Ahmed Sharida, soon after last December’s SAFF championship, made it clear that he would not tolerate any interference in selection matters.
