Slow road construction

By Our Correspondent

KASUR, March 31: The slack construction work on Kasur-Lahore and Kasur-Dipalpur roads was causing inconvenience to commuters, besides becoming a source of ever-increasing traffic accidents.

A delegation of city residents met with Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri at his residence and informed him that the contractors responsible for the construction work were least interested in completing the work on the roads and they were being patronised by some bureaucrats.

The contractors had left heaps of gravel and other construction material on different portions of the roads which was interrupting flow of traffic, they said. The contractors had begun the construction work almost a year ago. They demanded that the government should take notice of the situation and order steps to provide relief to the people.
