Sara top seeded


KARACHI, March 27: Pakistan number two Sara Awan would start as the top seed in the inaugural edition of the Hyderabad Open Women’s Squash Championship which gets underway at the Hyderabad Gymkhana from Tuesday.

Sara, one of the few women players who have represented Pakistan in international squash events, is one of the favourites for the title in the Rs75,000 tournament.

Muqaddas Ashraf is the second seed while the other seeded players are Maria Toor (3), Saima Shaukat (4), Aliya Sarfaraz (5) and former national champion Irum Jehan (6). Another former national champion Bushra Haider of Karachi has been given a wild card entry in the event.—PPI
