House arrest

LAHORE, March 18: The Punjab home department has issued house arrest orders for various leaders of Sunni school of thought in connection with Feb 14 rioting cases. They include Mukhtar Rizvi, Allama Irfan Mashhadi, Qari Zawwar Bahadur, Raza Mustafa, Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri and Shahid Gardezi.

A press release issued by the JUP (Nifaz-i-Shariat) says that Mr Rizvi has announced a three-day province-wide protest programme against arrests on March 19, 20 and 21.
