Operation to continue till camps smashed, says Ghani

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, March 17: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said that the Frontier Corps would stop its operations after dismantling of fugitive camps in Dera Bugti and Kohlu.

Talking to senior officers of the National Management Course at the Governor House on Friday, Mr Ghani said that a wrong impression had been created that law and order situation in the whole province was bad.

“Out of 28 districts of the province only Dera Bugti and Kohlu have unrest—and even that is confined to two tehsils. In the remaining districts the situation is normal,” the governor added.

He claimed that the Frontier Corps had been taking action to eliminate fugitive camps where terrorists were being trained. He said that during the last five years special attention had been given to Balochistan and presently developmental activities on a large scale were under way.

The governor said that the government was spending billions of rupees on education, provision of water, irrigation, communication, minerals and exploration of oil and gas. He said the government would not let anyone hinder the process of progress.
