PPP meeting today

LAHORE, March 14: A meeting of the Punjab PPP general council is due to be held here on Wednesday to discuss various issues and decide the party’s future course of action.

Provincial president Qasim Zia will preside over the meeting to be held at a marriage hall in Gulberg.

The return of Ms Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan, observance of the death anniversary of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on April 4, and preparations for the next general elections are the major items on the agenda.

PPP Senators and MNAs, members of the central executive committee, federal council from Punjab, MPAs and office-bearers of all districts will attend the meeting.

Qasim Zia is expected to brief the participants on the outcome of the recent talks between PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto in Dubai.
