LAHORE, March 11: The 14-goal Bank Alfalah team appears to be favourites against 13-goal Sanofi Aventis in the national Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup polo final to be held at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Sunday (today).

The bankers have formidable players, seven-goal Argentinean Jose Rivas and four-goal Hissam Ali Hyder.

Two-goal Taimur Mawaz Khan and one-goal Faaiz Rahim Khan are the other players.

Sanofi Aventis’s main attack depends on Indian Dhruvpal Godara, a five-goal player while Raja Samiullah (4-goal) is another good player.

Usman Haye (2-goal) and Iftikhar Ali Khan Simba (2-goal) are other members of the Sanofi Aventis team.

Bank Alfalah so far are unbeaten in the event while Sanofi Aventis entered the final on better goal average.

In the last league match, Sanofi Aventis had lost 10-9 to Diamond Paints.

However, both teams were locked at six points, each. But on goal average Sanofi Aventis were one-goal plus.

Green Force and Diamond Paints will play the third place match.
