Judicial staff’s performance improving: CJ

By Our Correspondent

KOHAT, March 11: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Tariq Pervez has said that a change has been witnessed in the performance of judicial staff and advocates as a result of the access to justice programme initiated by the government.

Inaugurating a central information centre in the district courts on Saturday, the chief justice expressed satisfaction over the performance of the provincial judiciary, saying that it was better as compared to other provinces. He lauded the knowledge of the judges about the skills of judgment writing, their habit of case reading and early process of cases.

He said the information centres were being established in all the district courts to facilitate advocates and petitioners. The centres will provide dates of hearing of cases and other necessary information to people.

He said the centres would be connected to all the courts through intercom and the officer in charge would collect and provide information on a daily basis.

He donated 50 books to Kohat Bar Association president Abdur Rauf under the access to justice programme. He said the government was striving to achieve the milestone of easy access to justice by providing facilities and training to the people concerned.

The chief justice inspected the under construction courts building and suggested some changes in its design.

Kohat District and Sessions Judge Syed Yahya Gilani apprised the chief justice about the ongoing training of court staff, advocates and judges through workshops.
