Hina spins Hyderabad to victory


KARACHI, March 3: Off-spinner Hina Khan captured five wickets to spin Hyderabad to a 50-run victory over Quetta in a preliminary round match of the second National women cricket championship

Batting first Hyderabad were dismissed for 111 in 34.5 overs. Lubna Gullzar (16), Summaya Siddiqui (15), Sahera Zakir (14) were three batswomen to reach the double figures.

Quetta gave 41 extras, including 35 wides. Shazia Anjum, Riffat Mehdi, Nahida Khan and Rubina shared eight wickets among them. Nahida bowled nine wides and Riffat Mehdi eight.

Quetta in reply was all out for 61 in 29.4 overs.

Hina Khan finished with excellent figures of five wickets for seven runs in six overs. Pacewoman Summaya Siddiqui snapped-up three for 25 in eight overs and Lubna Gulzar got two for 17 in seven overs.

Karachi will take on Quetta on Saturday.
