KARACHI, March 3: Five ships carrying chemicals, steel coils and soyabean meal are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at wharves was active where eight vessels, Fairchem Mustang, to unload oil, Orionis, to load fish, Conti Esperance, Golden Express to unload and load containers, Fu Yu Shan Rickmers Mumbai, to unload general cargo, Barge Sapta-1 to load rice and Tug Al-Rahim to load general cargo.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, Global Princess, Hyundai Stride, Golden Express, Kota Wangi, Delfinaki, Banglar Gourab and Poppy departed, while Bolan, Kota Tabah, Explorer-1, Thor Captain, Fairchem Mustang, Conti Esperance, Rickmers Mumbai, Orionis, Pacific Express, Sinar Bontang and Maersk Alabama are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 87,684 tons comprising 40,644 tons of export cargo, including 8,429 tons of rice and 888 tons of cement and 47,040 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Roseanne, with chemicals, Altius, to load naphtha, Iran Shaharyar, with containers, Mercs Ruhunu, with 2,750 tons of soyabean meal and Nicolas-S, with steel coils.
