ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: American Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker on Tuesday assured Pakistan of continued support form the United States in the fights against terrorism and narcotics.

The envoy, who called on Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao, told him that the US was ready to provide modern training to personnel of Pakistani law-enforcement agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Force, a ministry spokesman said.

He praised the government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism and curb human and narcotics smuggling.

The ambassador held out the assurance that the US would continue to support recovery and rehabilitation work of the government in Azad Kashmir and the NWFP.

The interior minister lauded the US assistance for quake-affected people as well as its cooperation in combating terrorism and human and drug trafficking.

He informed the diplomat that the government had formed an anti-human trafficking task force, which in coordination with relevant security agencies had achieved good results.—APP
