MITHI, Feb 12: Ms Vilayat belonging to the Talo Jam village of the Diplo Taluka has appealed to the federal government for repatriation of her husband who is reportedly languishing in an Indian jail for illegally crossing the border.

In an appeal to the president and the prime minister, Ms Vilayat, wife of Qasim Rahimoo, maintained that her village was on the adjacent to border with India where no barbed wire existed demarcating the borders of the two countries.

Her husband, a herdsman, mistakenly crossed over to India while grazing cattle and was imprisoned by the Indians.

She pointed out that her husband was the lone bread winner for his family and his whereabouts were not known after his sudden disappearance.

Languishing in an Indian jail since last nine years, Mr Qasim informed his relatives through letters that he has completed his prison term and sought intervention of Pakistan and the Indian government officials for his repatriation, she added.
