Fazl warns against attack on Iran

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 8: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and secretary-general of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that any attack on Iran will be taken as a direct assault on Muslim Ummah.

“The entire non-Muslim community is hatching conspiracies against the Muslims and the publication of cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is tantamount to rubbing salt into the wounds of Ummah and it is high time for Muslim to forge unity among their ranks and the month of Muharram-ul-Haram also teaches us this lesson,” Mr Fazl expressed these views in his chat with media people in his home constituency on Wednesday.

He vowed that the Muslim Ummah would resist any US attack on Iran and the US should learn a lesson from mayhem in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The opposition leader urged upon various sects to commemorate Yaum-i-Ashur with reverence and reject designs spreading hate and acrimony, adding that people from different schools of thought should strive to maintain peace and ensure the law and order.

Ulema’s visit: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz provided a special plane for Ulema wanting to attend the funeral services of the famous Muslim scholar of India and chairman of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, Maulana Asad Madni.

The delegation was given VIP protocol in India and was able to attend the funeral services.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has thanked the prime minister for his kind and timely gesture of goodwill.

Pakistan High Commissioner Aziz Ahmed Khan received the delegates at the New Delhi airport.

The Ulema also paid respects to various holy shrines of India besides condoling with the deceased scholar’s brother, Maulana Arshad Madni, and offered condolence prayers.—Online
