Patron’s Cup One-day from today

KARACHI, Feb 3: The One-day Patron’s Cup will start at three centres of the country from Saturday with 10 top teams of the country in the fray. On the opening day, PIA will take on HBL at UBL Sports Complex and Customs will clash with KRL at NBP Sports Complex.

At Rawalpindi’s KRL Stadium, Wapda face ZTBL and PTCL will be up against Services Industries at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad.

Group “A” has PIA, HBL, Customs, KRL and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and it matches will be staged in Karachi while Group “B” comprises NBP, PTCL, Services Industries and Wapda and its matches will be conducted in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.

After round robin league matches, top two teams from each group will advance into the semifinals which will be played at Karachi’s NBP and UBL Sport Complex grounds on February 18.

A prize money of Rs.350,000 will be on offer in the championship.—APP
