GUJRANWALA, Feb 3: A local court rejected the bail application of a human trafficker and granted physical remand of two other accused on Friday. The FIA passport cell had arrested human trafficker Muhammad Yahya last month and sent him to jail. The accused moved his bail application which was turned down by the judge. While the court granted a two-day physical remand of two human smugglers Muhammad Arshad and Suleman on the request of the FIA.
It was stated that the accused extorted heavy amount from several youths for sending them abroad, but they neither sent them abroad nor returned their money.
ACQUITTED: A condemned prisoner involved in killing of his wife was acquitted by a local court following mediation with heirs on Friday.
Reports said that Afzal had killed his wife Rehana Bibi over some domestic issue in Tetley village some two years ago. While the sessions court handed him down death sentence while the Lahore High Court remanded his appeal to the same court.
In the meanwhile, heirs of the accused approached heirs of the deceased who pardoned him. The court acquitted the accused when Arif, the brother of deceased, appeared in court and confirmed the mediation.
