Protest against water shortage

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 15: A large number of people of the Jhuddo town staged a demonstration outside the union council office and at the Mirpurkhas-Naukot road against water shortage. The protesters were led by former councillor Akhtar Qaimkhani.

They marched through various thoroughfares and raised slogans against the Jhuddo taluka municipal administration.

Later, the protesters reached the Mirpurkhas-Naukot road and staged a sit-in.

They burnt tyres on the road which suspended vehicular traffic for some time.

Jhuddo Taluka Nazim Haji Mohammed Hassan Laghari, UC Nazim Mohammed Aslam Qaimkhani and police reached at the spot and assured the protesters of water supply to their areas.

Later, water supply was restored to the affected areas.

CLASH: Three persons were injured in an armed clash between two groups at the Siyal colony.

Reports said that armed persons, Arif, Ashfaque, Ameen, Malook, Tariq Imran and Yasin attacked the house of Attaullah Jaat.

As a result, Attaullah Jaat, Naeem and Irfan sustained injuries and were admitted to the civil hospital.

The town police after lodging counter cases arrested six persons, including Arif, Ashfaque, Ameen and the injured persons.
