KARACHI, Jan 14: Leader Arif Khan and Muhammad Javed got through the two-day trials to book berths in the Asian Golf Tour-Pakistan Open with superb rounds of four-under-par 68 at Arabian Sea Country Club (ASCC) on Saturday.
Arif (ASCC) played a fine round of two-under on the first day and maintained his nick with a brilliant round to emerge on top of the ladder with an aggregate of 138.
Muhammad Javed finished a stroke behind at 139 while Waheed Baloch of Karachi Golf Club finished third, three strokes adrift.
Around 140 golfers including 100 foreign players will be in action in the four-day continental gala which tees off on Jan 19.
A small Thai contingent is due to arrive here on Sunday night to take part in the US$200,000 event, while majority of players will reach by Monday evening.
Pakistan Golf Federation has picked 13 golfers after trials.
