Children protest against detention

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 14: Children staged a demonstration to protest against the detention of Ali Asghar Bungalzai and Saeedur Rehman Bungalzai by an intelligence agency. Children aged between four and 12 years of age assembled in front of the press club on Friday and chanted slogans against the Balochistan governor, chief minister and intelligence agencies.

Former chief minister Mir Humayun Marri, JWP secretary-general Agha Shahid Hasan Bugti and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Balochistan chapter, vice-chairperson Malik Zahoor Shahwani were present on the occasion.

Nasrullah Khan, chairman of the Bungalzais release committee, said the children of Ali Asghar Bungalzai and Saeedur Rehman Bungalzai had observed a token hunger strike on Eidul Azha. He alleged that intelligence agencies had detained the two men.
