ISLAMABAD, Jan 5: A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports is to be held on Jan 9 to discuss Pakistan’s poor performance in hockey’s Champions Trophy.

The meeting has been convened following a requisition made by senators Aslam Buledi, Muhammad Enver Baig and Dr. Murad Ali Shah.

The president of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), its secretary and chief selector have been asked to attend the meeting.

Pakistan finished a poor fifth in the six-team tournament in Chennai last month just managing to avoid missing out on the next edition in Spain.

There have been indications that PHF’s alleged visa scandal may also come up for discussion again.
