Records set by Navy shooters
KARACHI, Jan 3: Navy sharpshooters made new team and individual records on the second day of the 15th National shooting championship at Naval Shooting Range on Tuesday.
Maqbool Hussain and Kashif Riaz both created a new record with an identical score of 554 out of 600 while the team comprising Maqbool, Kashif Ali and Zahid Ali accumulated 1650 to set the new mark.
Except for Double Trap shotgun gold, the reigning champions Navy took the nine other gold medals at stake on the first two days of the event.
Another navy-man Cdr Munir Hussain came from behind to grab the Double Trap individual gold, leaving Capt Mahmood Sultan (Sindh) at second spot two points behind. Maj Asad (Army) took the bronze.
