HYDERABAD, Jan 3: Jamshoro DCO Dr Mohammad Khawar Jameel has directed companies concerned with ongoing development work of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine to complete it by January 15 at the latest.

He warned that no delay in this regard would be tolerated.

Speaking at a meeting on Tuesday, he expressed his dissatisfaction over the pace of ongoing works which had to be completed by the end of Dec 2005.

He directed the general manager of the National Construction Limited Karachi to complete the ongoing works by Jan 15.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the project consultant of the company for his failure to monitor the work properly.

Dr Jameel directed EDO works and services Muneer Soomro to ensure that quality material was used in development works of the shrine.

He said that an amount of Rs2.4 million be released immediately to construction company to avoid any delay in the work.

He asked the company general manager and consultant to remain present at the shrine on January 6 when he will check the pace of development work.

Meanwhile, the DCO directed officials of the district government to complete delimitation work of the district as soon as possible for future planning of development works.

He was speaking to all EDOs and taluka municipal officers at his office here on Monday.

He directed taluka municipal officers of four talukas to identify boundaries of their respective talukas and fix landmarks.

He directed that priority should be given to development of parks and playgrounds and lighting arrangements.

He urged municipal administrations of four talukas to solicit reports from union council nazims about development schemes and budgetary allocations must be utilized within the stipulated period and the budget should not be allowed to lapse under any circumstances.
