ISLAMABAD, Jan 3: Mobile phone-snatching is common in the large cities of the country but this time the victim was uncommon. Ms Nilofer Bakhtiar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Women Development, was robbed of her cell phone by a teenager in the busy Aabpara market of the federal capital on Tuesday evening.
Ms Bakhtiar was visiting her tailor in the market with a lady senator when all of a sudden the robber appeared, snatched the phone from her hand and vanished.
The daring act left her so stunned that she could not describe the robber to police in detail or give the particulars of her lost cell phone.
A senior police official said that she instead offered to provide the packing box of her phone, if that could help in the investigations.
When contacted ASP City Tahir Ayub told Dawn that police have been examining the scene of crime and had started hunting for the culprit.
“The value of the mobile was not known, probably it was officially provided to her,” the ASP said.
