KARACHI: Work on projects reviewed

KARACHI, Jan 3: The Nazim of Saddar Town, Muhammad Dilawer, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of on-going development projects being carried out in different areas of the town.

The nazim while presiding over the meeting presented some suggestions for early completion of these schemes.

The EDO Transport, Muhammad Ather, briefed the participants about development work.

He said the city government’s transport department has chalked out different plans including the construction of a parking plaza in the town for resolution of traffic problems.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Dilawer said an anti-encroachment drive will be launched in Saddar Town after Eidul Azha to ensure free and smooth flow of traffic.

He maintained that setting up pushcarts and roadside stalls on footpaths or roads would not be allowed.

Secretary, RTA Shameem Akhter informed the meeting that buses, minibuses and coaches would not be allowed to establish terminuses on any part of the road in the surroundings of the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.—APP
