KARACHI, Jan 3: The Sindh Minister for Labour, Mohammad Adil Siddiqi, on Tuesday directed the department working under the Labour Ministry to present assessment reports of their performances in 2005.

He directed this during a high-level meeting held to review the performances of departments working under the Labour Ministry.

The minister also asked the officials concerned to complete the ongoing uplift projects and present their reports regarding the problems facing them in the completion of projects. All impediments regarding completion of projects will be removed, he added.

He said that the purpose of the preparation of assessment reports was to have a clear picture about the achieved and remaining targets that were made by him for the welfare of labours/workers on the time of taking charge of the office of the ministry.

The minister added that the evaluation reports would further facilitate the authority to effectively point out the problems or hurdles confronted in completion of various projects and also to initiate the remaining work.

Keeping in view the provision of more facilities to the workers, the minister further directed the social security, directorate of manpower and training, workers welfare board and other such departments to efficiently perform their duties.

He added that any negligence would not be tolerated in discharge of duties in this regard.
