Protest against load-shedding

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Dec 14: People of the Abad Lakha village, Sukkur, staged a protest demonstration and sit-in in front of the Superintendent Engineer Hesco’s office and at the press club, Sukkur, on Wednesday, against detection bills and unannounced load-shedding.

Irked by detection bills and unannounced load shedding they came out on the road and raised slogans against the officials of Hesco Sub-Division-VI, Sukkur.

Led by Mohammad Anwar Lakho, Ghulam Mohammad Lakho and others, they alleged that they were irritated by the hours-long load-shedding and detection bills.

They further alleged that the Hesco officials demanded Rs.200 per house to repair the damaged transformer of their village.

They demanded immediate withdrawal of detection bills, and removal of corrupt officials of Sub-Division-VI, Sukkur, and warned of a strong protest if their demands were not met with immediately.
