KARACHI: Fumigation drive

KARACHI, Dec 6: The City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal, on Tuesday ordered the second phase of fumigation drive in areas where fumigation was not carried out during the first phase.

He also asked the city govt’s health department to submit him a daily progress report in this regard.

He stressed that ponds of stagnant water, drains and other places ideal for mosquito breeding should be specially targeted during this phase.

According to schedule, fumigation would be done in Lyari and SITE towns on Dec 8, Orangi and Baldia towns on Dec 9, Jamshed and Keamari towns on Dec 10, North Nazimabad and Liaquatabad towns on Dec 12, Gulberg and New Karachi towns on Dec 13, Saddar and Malir towns on Dec 14, Landhi and Korangi towns on Dec 15, Bin Qasim and Gadap towns on Dec 16, and Gulshan Iqbal and Shah Faisal towns on Dec 17.—PPI
