KARACHI: Man found dead in Quaidabad

KARACHI, Dec 5: The body of a young man was recovered from a vacant plot in Quaidabad on Monday morning. Police said the body identified as that of Asghar Ali, 26, had two bullet wounds. Police shifted the body to the JPMC for autopsy.

Two armed suspects started looting estate agencies located in close proximity located near Masjid-i-Tooba.

TPO Clifton Imran Shaukat said an employee of an estate agency called the police helpline. A police party reached the spot and arrested the suspects.

Two pistols, looted cellphones and other snatched valuables were recovered from them.

In another incident, police arrested a bandit after a shootout and recovered a snatched car from his possession along with two TT pistols.

The TPO Clifton said the suspect deprived a lady of her purse, cellphone and gold ornaments in Gizri area and fled.

Following the incident, police erected check posts and started snap checking. During this period they intercepted the car, but the suspect sped away. Police chased the suspect ensuing in an exchange of fire during which the suspect was wounded.

The suspect was nabbed after a chase of eight kilometres. Two TT pistols and all looted articles of the lady along with the car, which was snatched from Ferozabad police limits, were recovered from him.
