LONDON, Dec 5: The yen hit a 32-month low point against the dollar in Asian trade on Monday and sank to an all-time trough against the euro after G7 powers, including Japan, had appeared unworried by the currency’s decline, dealers said. Sterling was largely unchanged ahead of publication of Britain’s pre-budget report. The euro fell to 1.1702 dollars in early European trading, from 1.1716 dollars late on Friday in New York.
The dollar gained to 121.18 yen from 120.56 yen on Friday.
