LAHORE, Dec 3: Pakistan on Saturday recalled all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, Yasir Arafat and batsman Yasir Hameed in the 15-member squad for the first two One-day Internationals of the five-match series against England.
The series starts with the first match at Qadhafi Stadium on Dec 10. The second match will also be held at the same venue on Dec 12.
Those who were ousted from the 16-member Test squad are Shahid Afridi, Hasan Raza, Asim Kamal and Mushtaq Ahmed.
Razzaq missed the three Test match series for his elbow injury and the bowler had restarted bowling from Monday. He will also lead a 14-member team announced for the practice match against England at Bagh-i-Jinnah on Wednesday.
Yasir Hameed and Yasir Arafat had good seasons in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy and got nod of the selectors.
Both Hasan and Asim failed to deliver in the Test series while Afridi was not considered since he is facing a three-match ban.
Mushtaq, who was selected in the Test squad after two years in the wilderness, was shown the doors, without testing him in any Test match.
Younis Khan, the vice captain, who also missed the third Test in Lahore due to sudden death of his brother in a road accident in Ukraine was retained in the one-day squad.
Surprisingly, the PCB director Abbas Zaidi announced the teams despite the fact that chief selector Wasim Bari was also in Lahore to watch the last day of the third Test against England.
“The national selection committee has handed over the team to the PCB and after approval we are announcing it,” Zaidi said.
