KOHAT, Dec 3: The Barani Area Development Project has allocated Rs600 million under its six-year plan for poverty reduction, construction of roads and improvement of health services in the rural areas of Kohat district. Seth Gohar Saifullah Khan, district nazim, was told at a briefing by coordinator of Barani Area Development Project Mohsin ul Mulk on Saturday.

The work on construction of washrooms in 20 schools and various irrigation and communication schemes is already under way with a cost of Rs168 million. In all, 65km long roads would be constructed in the far flung villages in six years.

The Asian Development Bank being the major donor agency would provide 53 per cent, international fund for agriculture development 15 per cent, whereas the NWFP government would contribute 20 per cent, district nazim was informed.
