KARACHI, Dec 2: The police on Friday arrested two suspects and recovered one and half kg of explosive material and pistols from their possession during snap checking in Gizri area on Friday. The city is witnessing a security alert due to the prime minister’s visit of the city.

DIG Investigation Manzoor Mughal told Dawn that during snap checking, officials of the Anti-Dacoity and Robbery Cell (ADRC) intercepted a car (AHX-025) on the Gizri Avenue. During the search, two TT pistols and explosive material weighing one-and-half kg was recovered from the car.

The suspects have been identified as Tariq Hussain and Ali Hassan. The DIG said the car they were driving was stolen and, on their disclosure, another stolen car (AAB-686) was also recovered.
