Blazing knocks by Laeeq, Rauf

LAHORE, Nov 22: Fine batting by Mohammad Laeeq and Abdul Rauf helped Faisalabad beat Rawalpindi by 141 runs in the National Inter-region under-19 one-day tournament match at Bohranwali Ground in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

Laeeq scored a 96-ball 90 with 14 boundaries and one six while Rauf blasted 75 off 68 balls, including 14 fours as Faisalabad piled up 276.

In reply, Rawalpindi were all out for 135 in 27 overs with medium pacer Ali Raza picking up four for 37.

Good contributions by opener Mohammad Yasin (55) and pace duo of Imran Malik (4-18) and Mohammad Imran (3-17) helped Sialkot beat Multan by 89 runs at Gymkhana Ground, Okara in a low-scoring match.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Karachi: Hosts Karachi Urban secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over Lahore Shalimar at the PCB Regional Academy Ground.

Shalimar were bowled out for 150 despite a gutsy 52 by skipper Nasir Jamshed, who hit three boundaries in a 79-ball knock.

Urban were home and dry in the 32nd over with Ramiz Raja (47, eight fours) leading the run-chase.
