Sri Lankan cagers to play in Pakistan

KARACHI, Nov 16: The Sri Lankan basketball team will visit Pakistan next year to play a series against their counterparts. Col Nasim Butt, secretary of the PABBF ad hoc committee told Dawn from Lahore on Wednesday that he had received a letter from secretary, Sri Lankan Basketball Federation (SLBF), Lt. Col Indunil Ranasinghe, the other day.

The secretary disclosed that he would meet director general, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), in Islamabad on Nov 19 to discuss modalities of the visit including the No Objection Certificate from the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, according to him, the second all Pakistan Mushaf Ali Mir basketball tournament will be played at Lahore from Dec 20 to 27.

Top departmental teams of the country are expected to feature in the contest.
