NABLUS (West Bank), Nov 14: The local military leader of radical Islamist movement Hamas in the northern West Bank town of Nablus was killed in a shootout with Israeli troops on Monday, Palestinian and Israeli sources said. Amjad al-Hinawi had been a target during an Israeli arrest operation in the town that disintegrated into a shootout.
Israeli troops surrounded the building and ordered all occupants out. Hinawi tried to escape and was shot by Israeli troops in his head and body, Palestinian security sources said.—AFP
