Seismic workshop from 12th in China


PESHAWAR, Nov 10: The fifth workshop on seismic analysis in South Asia will be held from November 12 to 16 at Xian in China. Experts from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand will participate in the workshop.

Director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Peshawar, Mohammad Rafiq, is proceeding on Friday to China to represent Pakistan in the workshop.

He will deliver a presentation on “Devastation and aftershocks activity of October 8 earthquake in northern Pakistan.” He will also exchange views on the earthquake and its aftershocks with the Chinese and US geological surveyors and the seismologists participating in the workshop. —-APP
