FIA sets up team to stop human smuggling
PESHAWAR, Nov 7: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formed a team to stop smuggling of children and young girls in the name of providing shelter to quake victims in foreign countries, said a senior official.
Agency Director Malik Naveed told reporters on Monday at the Edhi shelter house in Peshawar that he had ordered formation of a special team to check human smuggling to foreign countries.
The FIA had taken the step following reports about the attempt of several people to adopt some of quake victims and provide them shelter despite the government ban, he said.
The special team would keep strict check at the Peshawar international airport to foil any such attempt, said Malik Naveed.
Later, the FIA director distributed Eid gifts among the quake victims at the Edhi shelter house and spent some time.
KILLED: Two persons were killed in separate incidents on Monday, police officials said.
Sayal Mir, son of Asal Mir of Turkman village, told the Matani police that he was sitting with his brother Khaista Mir at his shop in the main Matani Market on Monday morning.
Two brothers, Arab Shah and Azeem Shah, sons of Rehman Shah, came to the shop and opened fire, killing his brother Khaista Shah on the spot.
Sayal Mir said that some time ago Wakeel Shah, brother of the accused, was killed by some unknown persons.
However, Arab and Azeem had suspicion that Khaista Shah’s son Sajid had killed their brother. On Monday, they took revenge.
Meanwhile, Saleh Mohammad, son of Gul Mohammad of Pishtakhara Payan, told the police that his son Asghar Ali went somewhere on Sunday night, but did not return.
On Monday morning, his bullet-riddled body was found near a brick-kiln in the same village.
Saleh Mohammad said he or his family had no enmity with any one.
