Fiery spell by Tariq

KARACHI, Nov 3: Medium-pacer Tariq Haroon produced a fiery opening spell that inspired Tapal CC clinched the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan cricket trophy with a 84-run win over Omar CC on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 199 of 20 overs Omar CC crashed to 114 all out in 19.5 overs.

Man-of-the-Match Tariq removed openers Ameer Mukhtar Niazi and Naeem Ahmed Khan in his first over. In his second over, Tariq dismissed Saqib Zia and Daniyal Ahsan to have Omar CC reeling at 8-4.

Earlier, the winners reached 198 for five with Saeed bin Nasir (67) and skipper Ahmed Zeeshan Malik (65) being the main run-getters.

Mansoor Khan was declared Man-of-the-Tournament while others individual awards were bagged by Javed Mansoor (best wicket-keeper), Rahim Suleman and Amin Sultan (joint best bowler) and Daniyal Ahsan (best batsman).
