ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: More than 30 women and child victims of the October 8 earthquake are lying in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Rawalpindi General Hospital and Holy Family Hospital with no trace of their relatives.

They were brought to the hospital from different quake- devastated areas for treatment of their injuries.

The names of the so-called unclaimed quake victims are being listed below to help relatives looking for missing persons spot them and claim them.

Six unclaimed injured children are admitted to the Children’s Hospital, Pims.

They are Mohammad Shafiq, 9, a resident of Astore village, Gilgit; Naila, 7, Amina, 13, residents of Chinari, AJK; Zain Bibi, 13, a resident of Muzaffarabad, and two 13-year-old girls, residents of Azad Kashmir.

Fourteen unclaimed injured males are being treated at Pims. They are Bashir Hussain, 25; Jamil, 62; Mohammad Maroof, 35; Tanveer, 35; Tahir Hussain, 18; Ghulam Hussain, 45; Syed Hussain, 60; Mohammad Aslam, 38; Syed Shah Hussain, 65; Junaid, 20; Shabir, 35; Shahid, 14; residents of Azad Kashmir, Banaras, 40, a resident of Balakot, and an unknown man.

Similarly, six unclaimed injured — children and women — are being treated at Rawalpindi General Hospital (RGH) while six unclaimed injured males have been admitted to Holy Family Hospital (HFH).

Twenty-one earthquake survivors are suffering from tetanus and are being treated at Pims, RGH and HFH.

Thirteen minor children are being treated at Children’s Hospital Pims, six at RGH and two at HFH.

About 137 amputations have been carried out at different hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad out of which 37 were conducted at Pims, 22 at Children’s Hospital, 53 at Rawalpindi General Hospital (RGH) and Holy Family Hospital, and 25 at Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH).

Besides, 400 patients in different hospitals have become paraplegic out of which 103 are being treated at Pims and 81 at the RGH, HFH and DHQ hospital.

Meanwhile, 14,983 injured have so far been shifted to 14 different hospitals of Islamabad and Rawalpindi since October 8, and 3,623 are still being treated at these hospitals.
