KARACHI, Oct 23: Two brothers were killed allegedly by their business rivals over monetary matters in Lyari early on Sunday morning. Police said that Nadeem, 27, and Naeem, 23, were killed allegedly by Owais and his associates in their house in Agra Taj Colony.
Quoting the statement of Mr Shafiq, victim’s third brother, police said that around 4am when he entered the house he saw Owais and his accomplices fleeing. Nadeem was strangulated while Naeem was stabbed to death, police said.
The three brothers used to live in the house and were engaged in the vegetable business. They had rivalries with Anis Bhuranwala, who had also been nominated in the FIR, police added.
ACCIDENTS: Three persons died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Sunday.
An ASI died and police constable was injured when they were hit by a speeding trailer on National Highway in the limits of Shah Latif police station. Police said that ASI Ali Muhammad, 50, and constable Sattar were on a motorcycle when a speeding trailer knocked them down near Razzakabad police training college.
In Lyari, a young pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding minibus of route (N) knocked near Kakri Ground.
The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said that the driver escaped leaving the vehicle behind.
In Saddar, an unidentified man died in a hit-and-run accident at Lucky Star. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Post Graduates Medical Complex for legal formalities, police said.
SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead after he put up resistance to bandits, who intruded his shop in Gulistan-i-Jauhar late on Friday night.
Police said that Ghulam Mustafa, 45, an owner of a shop dealing in estates and property, was taken at gunpoint by some unidentified bandits. As he was being deprived of his cash and belongings, he put up resistance and was shot dead, the police quoted some witnesses as saying.
The body was shifted to a hospital and later handed over to the victim’s family.
LOOTED: Shakeel Memon was deprived of his mobile phone, cash and press cards by robbers on Saturday night, PPI adds.
Shakeel Memon, a reporter, was going home in Gulistan Coach when two armed youth looted its passengers near Old Sabzi Mandi in the limits of PIB police station. A case in this regard was lodged at the PIB police station.
