Rahim, Afzal sparkle for AKG

KARACHIi, Oct 14: A four-wicket haul by Rahim Suleman and sparkling half century by Afzal Baig helped hosts Aga Khan Gymkhana (AKG) Blues to mark a victory of three wickets over Cantt Sports (CS) in AKG Twenty20 Cup 2005 Ramazan cricket tournament on Friday at AKG Ground.

The hosts restricted their opponents to 144-9 in stipulated overs. Rahim conceded only 27 runs while claiming four wickets. Besides, Suleman Hudda 2-18, Jaffer Qureshi 35 and Eijaz Ahmed 32 were the main contributors for CS.

AKG (B) achieved the target, losing seven wickets with just two balls to spare.

Afzal who blasted two boundaries and one six in his match winning innings of 53 runs off 50 balls was the hero of his team.

He received good support from Aamir Ali with unbeaten 27 and Shahid 22.

Ejaz Ahmed with figures 2-32 was the most successful bowler for the losers.
