KARACHI, Oct 14: Police on Friday lodged an FIR against a suspect, who is alleged to have purchased 12 truckloads of relief goods from different relief camps across the city at a throw away price with an intent to dump them.

Police said an FIR (424/2005) was lodged against Abdul Khaliq, who owns a shop at Light House, and his two accomplices Babu and Nazim who are also in the same business of used clothes.

Police said that Khaliq was arrested on Thursday night while his two accomplices were absconding.

The truckloads comprising old clothes and shoes were seized by the police from a vacant plot in Keamari on Thursday. Following the seizure, TPO Keamari handed over the truckloads to Edhi Welfare Trust so that the consignment could be used by the people in distress.
