MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Oct 9: The district government has offered free residence and food for dwellers of dangerous buildings, who have no relatives to get accommodation.

They are advised to evacuate these buildings to avert any mishap in the event of earthquake in future.

This was stated by DCO Abdus Sattar Shaikh while chairing an emergent meeting here on Sunday despite a weekly holiday. The meeting was attended by EDOs, DDOs(R) and representatives of various NGOs.

The meeting directed the DO(R) to evaluate earthquake losses in respective tehsils while DDOs were asked to ensure their round-the-clock presence at relief centres in Mandi Bahauddin, Malikwal and Phalia.

The EDO (education) was directed to visit all damaged school buildings and ensure that classes were not held there. — Correspondent
