KARACHI, Oct 8: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals, diesel oil and iron ore were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday. Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Aurora, Hyderabad, Evanglos-L, Joyos Age, Al Marwah, Energy Champion and Pacific Breeze, were busy in loading and unloading rice, containers, diesel oil, sugar, wheat, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 52,710 tons comprising 49,885 tons of import and 2,825 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was brisk as Bagi, Al Warbah, Saudi Abha, Al-Wajba and Aurora left the port.

Six ships, P&O Ned Los Angeles, Socotra, Docomo, Jain She-35, Esna and Tian Da, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
