11,604 voters to elect 24 district nazims in NWFP


PESHAWAR, Oct 3: A total of 11604 elected nazims and councillors will cast vote in NWFP in the third phase of the local government polls to be held on Thursday. According to the figures released by the provincial Election Commission, 11604 voters will elect 24 district nazims, four town nazims , 50 tehsil nazims, 354 women, peasants, labours and minority members against reserved seats in District Councils, 38 in four town councils and 352 in 50 tehsil councils. Among 11604 voters, 8065 are male and 3539 are female.

In Peshawar district, total number of voters is 1136 and they will elect a district nazim, four town nazims, district councillors against 40 reserved seats and town councillors against 38 reserved seats.

In Nowshera district, total voters are 573 who will elect a district nazim, 20 district councillors, and 20 tehsil councillors. The number of elected nazims and councillors in district Charsadda are 593 who will elect a district nazim, three tehsil nazims, 18 district councillors and 20 tehsil councillors.

In Mardan district, 904 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 33 district councillors and 33 tehsil councillors. In Swabi district, 638 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 21 district councillors and 23 tehsil councillors.

Similarly, in Kohat district 381 voters will cast votes to elect a district nazim, a tehsil nazim, 15 district and 15 tehsil councillors. In Karak district, 251 voters will elect a district nazim, three tehsil nazims, 8 district councillors and 10 tehsil councillors. In Bannu district, the number of voters is 576 who will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 21 district councillors and 9 tehsil councillors.

In D I Khan district, a total of 581 voters will elect a district nazim, five tehsil nazims, 19 district councillors and 21 tehsil councillors. In Tank district, 194 voters will elect a district nazim, a tehsil nazim, seven district councillors and seven tehsil councillors.

In Haripur district, 547 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 16 district councillors and 18 tehsil councillors. In Buner district, 333 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, six district councillors and 13 tehsil councillors. In Hangu district there are 227 voters to elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, five district councillors and eight tehsil councillors.

In Lakki Marwat district, 394 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 12 district councillors and 13 tehsil councillors. In Abbottabad district, total voters are 614 who will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 22 district councillors and 23 tehsil councillors. In Manshera district, 708 councillors will elect a district nazim, three tehsil nazims, 23 district councillors and 24 tehsil councillors.

In Battagram district, total voters are 200 who will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, two district councillors and three tehsil councillors. In Kohistan district, 304 voters will elect a district nazim, three tehsil nazims, two district councillors, and three tehsil councillors.

In Swat district, 769 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 23 district and 28 tehsil councillors. In Shangla district, 333 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 10 district and 11 tehsil councillors. In Dir Bala district, 313 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, seven district and 11 tehsil councillors. In Dir Lower district, 404 voters will elect district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 14 tehsil councillors. In Chitral district 290 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 10 district councillors and 11 tehsil councillors.

In Malakand district, 341 voters will elect a district nazim, two tehsil nazims, 12 district councillors and 14 tehsil councillors.—APP
