PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Secretary General of the NWFP Softball Association, Wasil Khan announced a 16-member women team on the conclusion of a 15-day camp held at Jinnah College ground on Tuesday.
Wasil said 25 short-listed female players attended the coaching and training camp which started from Sept 12 under the aegis of NWFP Softball Association at Jinnah College for Women University of Peshawar.
He said, two coaches, Chaman Gul of Home Economics College and Neelam Babar of Jinnah College imparted training to all the 25 girls from various districts.
He said selected team will participate in the forthcoming national championship to be commencing from Oct 2 to Oct 4 in Lahore. It would be the fourth edition of the national event.
Despite tough resistance, a team of 16 girls will be representing the province in the championship. The association, he said, got permission from the parents and educational institutions in order to place everything on the right track.
He said Miss Neelam Babar and Mrs. Rozina Mufti were nominated as manager and coach of the team.
