3 policemen, 4 Taliban killed


KANDAHAR, Sept 20: Seven people were killed on Tuesday in two separate ambushes in southern Afghanistan, officials said. In the first incident, Taliban rebels attack district police chief Haji Said Wali at 10am in the Gizab district of Uruzgan province, wounding him and killing three of his colleagues.

“He was wounded with three other policeman. Three police and one Taliban were killed in the fighting,” Jan Mohammad Khan, Uruzgan governor, told AFP.
