KARACHI: Urgent repair of police vehicles ordered

KARACHI, Sept 20: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi on Tuesday directed that all out-of-order vehicles lying at workshop should be repaired to help ensure security of people. He issued the directive during a detailed visit to Central Motor Transport Worksop of Sindh Police at Garden Road. IGP Asad Jehangir, DIG Traffic Falak Khurshid and In charge Workshop DSP Najma also accompanied the minister.

Rauf Siddiqi observed that many police stations in Sindh were facing shortage of vehicles, affecting their work, particularly countering the dacoits and notorious outlaws. He pointed out that police officials were not short of spirit and courage. “Whenever a difficult task is assigned to them, they fulfilled it at the risk of their lives,” he added.

Later, he visited various sections of the workshop and inspected the vehicles being repaired. —APP
