KARACHI, Sept 13: Five ships carrying crude oil and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow owing partly to technical reasons. As a result, only two ships, Ever Gather and Hang Jiang He were berthed to unload and load containers after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed were led by Jade Trader, Ataraxia, Mirinda Rose, Rainbow Star and Al-Marwahmwhile African Karoo, Yang Jiang He, Ever Gather and Global Wind are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was light owing to lesser handling of liquid cargo, falling to 60,269 tons comprising 2,658 tons of export cargo and 57,611 tons of import. The following ships are due on Wednesday: Shalamar, with 70,329 tons of export crude oil, Hyundai Sprinter, PONL Mahe, PONL Vera Cruz and Iran Sattari, with containers.
